Statement

My name is Terry Granderson. I am the Consumer Representative for the HVACR Board. My goal is to represent all consumers. Consumers are those who purchase hvacr products and services, those who sell, service and install hvacr products and services and those who regulate and inspect hvacr products and their installation.

The concept of the HVACR Licensing Program was adopted and passed into law by the Arkansas Legislature in 1991 as a consumer protection program. The very precepts of this program, as spelled out in the legislation of Arkansas Code Annotated 17-33-101 thru 17-33-308, specifically provide for the health, safety and welfare of the public thru the enforcement authority given to this Board and the staff. Through the adoption of rules and regulations and the adoption of the Arkansas Mechanical Code, the Board is charged with the duty and responsibility to guide and support the staff in its daily functions of carrying out the policies of the Board and duties of the Board as spelled out in ACA 17-33-302.

To that end, I will commit to the general public, the HVACR industry and, specifically to the staff, my support of those initiatives that best provides for the health, safety and welfare of the consumers of the State of Arkansas.
